Our Quality

From the very beginning of our work the Inter Technical Translations team assumed that there are two keystones of Quality: staff qualification and corporate process.

Our company views its staff as the main asset.

We carefully test all our translators and suppliers before starting cooperation. Translators always receive feedback and comments from the Editor/Proofreader for every project, and we always share available client feedback with all the linguists involved into the project, no matter how positive, negative or preferential is it. We encourage and help linguists working within the same or similar projects to communicate with each other as much as it is allowed by particular confidentiality requirements.

Our Project Management team employs well-educated experienced managers that are in most cases working with us for from 3 to over 20 years. We maintain a low personnel turnover, which enables us to accumulate and share long-term experience and knowledge. Cooperative atmosphere and good communications within the company together with training, support and supervision that are performed by the most experienced Project Managers within each team allow quick professional growth of each manager as well as ensure stable high quality of management for all our projects and clients.

Our Corporate Process is developed based on the international standards for translation industry like ISO 17100 as well as best practices and corporate experience. Briefly, the following stages of workflow are defined to ensure that project activities will be planned and quality will be controlled at every stage.

  • Project startup

Dedicated Project Manager (PM) is assigned basing on the type of project, Client, required experience etc. Supervising Manager may also be assigned if it is a new Client or brand new technology, or if the workload for the project is very high. The PM will be responsible for the project during its lifetime: creating, controlling and adjusting timescale, selecting linguistic team and other necessary project staff, communicating with the Client, determining production and QA tools and procedures to be used.

  • Evaluation and Planning

Project scope, Client requirements and expectations, volume of work and costs are evaluated by the PM. Project schedule, steps, necessary resources, tools and QA procedures are determined and negotiated.

  • Pre-processing (if any)

Project files are processed and if necessary converted to the format useful for translation: text is extracted and/or marked-up for translation using CAT tools, arttext is extracted or typed up, recorded voice is transcripted, etc.

  • Translation

The PM coordinates the work of professional native-speaking Translators experienced in subject matter, ensures usage of terminology bases and translation memories as well as available reference materials, provides necessary technical support together with the IT team and maintains contact with the Client and Subject Matter Experts to answer queries.

  • Editing/Proofreading

The PM coordinates the work of a professional native-speaking Editor/Proofreader who is checking the whole translated material to ensure accuracy, correctness, terminology and style consistency, compliance with Client requirements and guidelines. All the reference materials and information obtained during translation are provided to the Editor/Proofreader.

  • Post-processing (if any)

If required final translation is converted to the required formats, then DTP tidy-up, Engineering or other similar activities take place under PM control.

  • Final QA

Appropriate Quality Checks are performed depending on the post-processing required and nature of the final deliverables. The QC comprises of Linguistic Sign-Off, Linguistic Testing, Voiceover QA, etc.

  • Project finalization

The PM collects and reports feedback from the project participants and if possible from the Client, and provides recommendations and comments for future workflow improvement where applicable.

Whenever applicable, we also manage status reporting, project meetings as well as project post-mortem reporting in the forms that best suite project and clients' needs.

Our approach allows us to keep our current Clients satisfied, flexibly respond to the new requests and accommodate our workflow to new or changed clients' needs, keeping at the same time our team stable and oriented to the Quality.
